seven-day CELEBRATION HONORS history, Black family values, community, and culture.

The gibson-Jackson family has been celebrating kwanzaa since 1974.
in 2025, our family began the work to
intentionally expand our family kwanzaa event.
from that idea,
JG Family Kwanzaa was born.

Ujamaa translates to Cooperative Economics in Swahili. It is also the principal of the fourth day of Kwanzaa. Your Ujamaa donation will be used to help build the community fund so that we can further spread the message of Kwanzaa. Together, we can build a better future.
